What were the names of the first two Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games released in Japan?
Answer
Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team
Answer
Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team
The first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games released in Japan were Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team.
They launched in 2005 as a paired release. Red Rescue Team was made for the Game Boy Advance, while Blue Rescue Team was made for the Nintendo DS. The two versions share the same broad adventure but use different hardware and include some version-exclusive Pokémon.
Unlike the main series, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon places the player in the role of a Pokémon rather than a human Trainer. The gameplay combines role-playing elements with randomly generated dungeons, turn-based movement, and rescue missions.
The games reached worldwide markets in 2006. Their later remake, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, was released for Nintendo Switch in 2020, but it is not the original debut of the series.
