What were the first two games released in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series?

The story behind the answer

The first two Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games were Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team.

Both games were released in Japan on November 17, 2005. Red Rescue Team was made for Game Boy Advance, while Blue Rescue Team was made for Nintendo DS. They share the same basic adventure but use the features of their respective systems.

The series differs from the main Pokémon role-playing games because the player becomes a Pokémon rather than a human trainer. Players explore randomly generated dungeons, complete rescue missions, recruit Pokémon, and battle using turn-based mechanics.

The games were developed by Chunsoft, later known as Spike Chunsoft. Later entries included Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness, and Explorers of Sky, followed by further games and remakes.
