What weapon does Kratos primarily use in God of War (2018)?

Kratos primarily uses the Leviathan Axe in God of War (2018). The magical axe is his principal weapon during the journey through the Norse realms, replacing the Blades of Chaos as the game’s main combat tool.

The Leviathan Axe was forged by the Huldra brothers, Brok and Sindri, who made it for the giant warrior Faye. Its frost power lets Kratos freeze enemies and affect environmental objects. He can also throw the axe and recall it to his hand, creating a distinctive combat mechanic.

The Blades of Chaos still appear later in the story, but they are not Kratos’s initial primary weapon in the 2018 game. The Draupnir Spear is introduced in the sequel, God of War Ragnarök, while the Blade of Olympus belongs to the earlier Greek-era games.
