What was the title of Stevie Wonder’s 1970 album released before Where I’m Coming From?

Signed, Sealed & Delivered was Stevie Wonder’s 1970 album released before Where I’m Coming From.

Wonder issued Signed, Sealed & Delivered in August 1970, followed by Where I’m Coming From in April 1971. The sequence is significant because Where I’m Coming From marked a stronger move toward artistic independence and more personal control over the music. Wonder was beginning to push beyond the standard Motown production model.

The earlier album contains the hit “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” as well as “Heaven Help Us All.” Its sound remains rooted in Motown soul, while Wonder’s growing role as a writer and musician is increasingly apparent.

The chronology can be confusing because several important Wonder albums appeared close together. For Once in My Life dates from 1968, Music of My Mind from 1972, and Talking Book from 1972. None of those is the 1970 album immediately preceding Where I’m Coming From.
