What was the Soviet invasion of Manchuria in August 1945 also called in the West?

The story behind the answer

The Soviet invasion of Manchuria in August 1945 was also called Operation August Storm in the West.

Its formal Soviet designation was the Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation, and it is also known simply as the Manchurian Operation. The campaign began on August 9, 1945, when Soviet forces attacked Japanese-held Manchuria from several directions.

The offensive overwhelmed the Japanese Kwantung Army, which had once been one of Japan's most important military formations. Soviet troops advanced through Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, southern Sakhalin, and northern Korea during the final weeks of the Pacific War.

Operation August Storm is sometimes confused with proposed American invasion plans. Operation Downfall was the overall U.S. plan for invading Japan, while Olympic referred to the proposed invasion of Kyushu. Neither operation was carried out because Japan surrendered before the planned invasion began.
