What was the original name of the Harley-Davidson electric motorcycle launched as a production model in 2019?

The story behind the answer

The original name of Harley-Davidson’s production electric motorcycle launched in 2019 was LiveWire.

Harley-Davidson first showed an electric prototype called Project LiveWire in 2014. After development and customer feedback, the company introduced the production motorcycle simply as LiveWire for the 2019 model year. It was the first electric motorcycle sold under the Harley-Davidson brand.

The LiveWire used a high-voltage battery and electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine, giving it instant torque and eliminating the traditional V-twin exhaust note. Its styling retained recognizable Harley-Davidson influences while its powertrain targeted a new category of rider.

LiveWire later became associated with a separate electric-motorcycle company. The later LiveWire One was based on the same broad product lineage, but it was not the original name of the 2019 Harley-Davidson-branded motorcycle.
