The official name of Schoolhouse Rock!’s Bicentennial-themed history and civics series was America Rock.
The third season of Schoolhouse Rock! was produced and broadcast in 1975 and 1976 to coincide with the United States Bicentennial. Its short animated music videos explained subjects including the American Revolution, the Constitution, immigration, westward expansion, and women’s suffrage.
Familiar entries included “No More Kings,” “The Preamble,” “Sufferin’ ’til Suffrage,” and “I’m Just a Bill.” The songs presented historical and government topics in a compact format aimed primarily at children watching ABC’s Saturday-morning programming.
Some later home-video material called the collection History Rock, which creates a common naming mix-up. America Rock was the official title for the Bicentennial-era season, while History Rock was used for a later video release label.
