Vogue’s first online fashion website, launched in 1995, was called Vogue.com.
The site extended the magazine’s fashion reporting into the early commercial internet, allowing readers to encounter Vogue material outside the printed issue. Its development was part of a wider shift in magazine publishing, as established titles began building digital audiences and experimenting with online news, photography, archives, and shopping-related content.
Vogue.com is sometimes confused with Style.com, a fashion website associated with Condé Nast that launched later and became known for runway coverage and fashion-show photography. The two sites were related through the same publishing company but were not the same product.
The website’s role expanded significantly over time. Vogue’s digital operation now publishes fashion news, interviews, beauty coverage, culture stories, video, and runway material, while the print magazine remains a separate editorial format. The 1995 launch marks Vogue’s early move into the web rather than the beginning of its social-media presence.
