Sail250 was the maritime event held for the U.S. semiquincentennial in 2026.
The event was presented as an international fleet review and maritime gathering connected with America’s 250th anniversary. It incorporated OpSail 2026, continuing a tradition of bringing naval vessels and tall ships together for major national occasions.
Sail250 took place in New York Harbor on July 4, 2026. The harbor setting connected the anniversary to the United States Navy, New York’s maritime history and the international character of the celebration.
Sail250 should not be confused with Operation Sail as a general event name. Operation Sail is a recurring maritime celebration associated with major U.S. anniversaries, while Sail250 was the specific semiquincentennial branding used for the 2026 gathering.
