What was the name of the failed 1945 Japanese military coup attempt against surrender?

The story behind the answer

The failed 1945 Japanese military coup attempt against surrender was the Kyujo incident.

The Kyujo incident, also called the Kyūjō incident, took place during the night of August 14–15, 1945. Army officers opposed to surrender tried to prevent Emperor Hirohito's recorded announcement from being broadcast. They sought to seize the Imperial Palace, locate the recording, and stop Japan from accepting the Allied terms.

The plotters gained support from some military personnel and temporarily occupied parts of the palace area. They failed to find the recording and could not secure the cooperation of senior commanders, including General Anami. The coup collapsed before morning, and the emperor's recording was broadcast on August 15.

The incident is sometimes confused with the February 26 Incident of 1936, an earlier attempted coup by young army officers. The Kyujo plot occurred at the very end of World War II and was directly connected to the surrender decision. Several participants later committed suicide, while others were arrested or prosecuted.
