The company created by the 2017 merger of Dow Chemical and DuPont was DowDuPont.
The transaction was announced in December 2015 as an all-stock “merger of equals” valued at roughly $130 billion. It closed on August 31, 2017, creating a holding company with three planned business areas: Agriculture, Materials Science, and Specialty Products.
DowDuPont was deliberately temporary rather than a permanent combination. Its businesses were separated into three publicly traded companies: Dow, Corteva Agriscience, and a restructured DuPont. The separation was completed in 2019. This is why answers such as “Dow Chemical” or “DuPont” alone are not the canonical name of the combined company, while “Dow Pont” and “DuDow” are not real corporate names.
