What was the name of the Apollo 11 lunar module that landed the first humans on the Moon?

The story behind the answer

Eagle was the Apollo 11 lunar module that landed the first humans on the Moon.

Apollo 11’s lunar module, called Eagle, carried Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from lunar orbit to the surface on July 20, 1969. Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit aboard the command module Columbia. Eagle landed at Tranquility Base in the Sea of Tranquility, completing the mission’s central objective.

The mission launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on July 16, 1969, atop a Saturn V rocket. Armstrong and Aldrin spent more than 21 hours on the lunar surface, while Collins orbited overhead. They collected lunar material, deployed scientific instruments, and placed an American flag before returning to Columbia.

People often confuse the names of the two Apollo 11 spacecraft. Columbia was the command module that carried all three astronauts to the Moon and returned them to Earth; Eagle was the lunar module used for the landing. After the crew rejoined Collins, Eagle’s ascent stage was left in lunar orbit and later probably crashed onto the Moon.
