What was the name of the 1975–1976 train tour that celebrated the United States Bicentennial?

The story behind the answer

The 1975–1976 train tour that celebrated the United States Bicentennial was the American Freedom Train.

The traveling exhibition carried historical artifacts and Americana in a specially painted red, white, and blue train. It began its tour on April 1, 1975, in Wilmington, Delaware, and continued through December 31, 1976.

The train consisted of 26 cars and was powered at different stages by three famous steam locomotives: Reading Company No. 2101, Southern Pacific No. 4449, and Texas & Pacific No. 610. The route was designed to bring the bicentennial celebration to communities across the country rather than keeping it in one national venue.

The American Freedom Train is separate from the earlier Freedom Train of 1947–1949. Both toured with patriotic themes, but the later train was specifically created for the 200th anniversary celebration.
