What was the name of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl’s global online trading system?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl used the Global Trade Station as their global online trading system.

The Global Trade Station, commonly abbreviated GTS, allowed players to deposit a Pokémon and request another species in return. Players could also search for offers made by other Trainers around the world. This expanded trading beyond local link cables and wireless communication between nearby Nintendo DS systems.

Diamond and Pearl supported Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which also enabled online battles and voice chat. The games were first released in Japan on September 28, 2006, and later arrived in other regions during 2007. They were the first main-series Pokémon games developed for the Nintendo DS.

The GTS is sometimes confused with later services such as Pokémon Bank or Pokémon HOME. Those services focus largely on storing or transferring Pokémon across games, while Diamond and Pearl's Global Trade Station was specifically an in-game marketplace for arranging trades with other players.
