What was the name of Pablo Picasso's firstborn child?
Answer
Paulo Picasso
Answer
Paulo Picasso
Pablo Picasso’s firstborn child was Paulo Picasso.
Paulo was born on 4 February 1921 in Paris to Picasso and Olga Khokhlova, a Russian-Ukrainian ballet dancer whom Picasso married in 1918. His full name was Paul Joseph Picasso, although he is commonly identified in English-language biographies as Paulo Picasso.
Paulo arrived during an important period in his father’s career. In 1921, Picasso was moving between neoclassical imagery and Synthetic Cubism, producing major works including two versions of Three Musicians. Picasso also made numerous drawings and portraits of his young son, documenting Paulo’s childhood through different artistic styles.
A frequent mix-up is to choose Paloma, Maya, or Claude, all of whom were also Picasso’s children but were born later. Maya was born in 1935, while Claude and Paloma were born in 1947 and 1949. Paulo later became a motorcycle racer and chauffeur for his father and had three children, including Marina Picasso and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso.
