What was the name of Niels Bohr's son who also won a Nobel Prize in Physics?

The story behind the answer

Niels Bohr’s son who also won a Nobel Prize in Physics was Aage Bohr.

Aage Niels Bohr was born in Copenhagen in 1922 and grew up surrounded by physicists at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, where his father worked. He initially assisted Niels during the Second World War, including work connected with the British atomic-bomb project, before developing his own career in nuclear physics.

Aage shared the 1975 Nobel Prize in Physics with Ben Roy Mottelson and James Rainwater. They were recognized for discovering the connection between collective motion and particle motion in atomic nuclei and for developing a theory of nuclear structure based on that connection.

Niels Bohr had won the Physics Nobel Prize in 1922, so Aage and his father became one of the notable father-and-son Nobel combinations. This is often confused with Harald Bohr, Niels’s brother, who was a mathematician and footballer—not his Nobel-winning son.
