SilverTab was Levi's loose-fitting fashion line popular during the 1990s.
The line was created to offer broader, more relaxed silhouettes than Levi's traditional workwear-inspired fits. SilverTab jeans became associated with the baggy and oversized denim styles that were prominent in 1990s youth fashion, especially in hip-hop and streetwear contexts.
SilverTab is not the same thing as Levi's Red Tab. The Red Tab is a small brand label sewn into the back pocket of many Levi's garments, while SilverTab is a named product line. SilverTab's importance comes from its fit and cultural timing: it helped Levi's participate in a decade when loose jeans were a major fashion statement.
