What was the name of Disney’s parade created for the 1976 United States Bicentennial?

The story behind the answer

Disney’s parade created for the 1976 United States Bicentennial was called America on Parade.

The production appeared at both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. It celebrated American history and culture while also marking Disneyland’s 20th anniversary and the Magic Kingdom’s fifth anniversary.

The parade first ran in summer 1975 and continued through 1976. Its route included large themed floats, performers, costumed characters, and musical numbers. One featured song was “The Glorious Fourth,” written by the Sherman Brothers for the celebration.

America on Parade is distinct from Disney’s later patriotic productions and from the television title Walt Disney’s America on Parade. A television special using that name aired in 1976 and presented footage of the park parade, with Red Skelton as presenter.
