What was the earliest release date for Pokémon Go?

The story behind the answer

The earliest release date for Pokémon Go was July 6, 2016.

Niantic launched the augmented-reality mobile game on that date in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. The game used GPS and smartphone cameras to place Pokémon in real-world locations.

Pokémon Go did not launch worldwide on one single day. Other countries received it in stages, including Germany on July 13, the United Kingdom on July 14, and Japan on July 22, 2016.

The game was developed and published by Niantic in partnership with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Its location-based design made catching Pokémon an outdoor activity and introduced the franchise to a large mobile audience.
