What was Pokémon Snap originally developed as before becoming a Pokémon game?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Snap was originally developed as a non-Pokémon game called Jack and the Beanstalk.

The project began at HAL Laboratory as a photography-oriented title intended for the Nintendo 64DD, a disk-based accessory for the Nintendo 64. Its development was linked to a team called Jack and Beans, and the project was publicly revealed in 1995.

The game later became Pokémon Snap after the developers and Nintendo sought a clearer motivation for taking photographs. Pokémon provided an immediately recognizable subject and turned the photography concept into an exploration game centered on Professor Oak's research.

Pokémon Snap ultimately moved from the delayed 64DD to a standard Nintendo 64 cartridge. Satoru Iwata was one of its producers, and the finished game introduced many Pokémon in real-time 3D. The abandoned original title is therefore a development-history fact, not an alternate Pokémon release.
