What was Orville Wright’s full first name?
Answer
Orville
Answer
Orville
Orville Wright’s full first name was Orville.
Orville was born on August 19, 1871, in Dayton, Ohio, and was the younger of the two Wright brothers involved in aviation. He worked with Wilbur in their printing and bicycle businesses before the brothers turned their attention to flight research.
Orville piloted the first powered flight on December 17, 1903. He later continued the Wright Company’s aircraft development and business activities after Wilbur died in 1912. Orville also became involved in disputes over recognition and patent rights.
The name is sometimes confused with Orlando or Oliver because all three are familiar names beginning with “Or.” Orville, however, is the historically documented given name used throughout his life and in the Wright brothers’ aviation records.
