What was FIFA 19’s new touch-and-control gameplay system called?
Answer
Active Touch System
Answer
Active Touch System
FIFA 19 introduced the Active Touch System to expand how players controlled and interacted with the ball.
The system added more variety to first touches, traps, flicks, and other ball-control animations. It was designed to make a footballer’s body position and the direction of an input matter more visibly, giving skilled players additional ways to receive or move the ball.
The name can be confused with FIFA 13’s First Touch Control, which also changed reception but was an earlier system with a different label. FIFA 19’s other major additions included the official UEFA Champions League and Europa League licenses, but Active Touch System referred specifically to ball control. Later FIFA games continued to build on more contextual animations and player-specific movement.
