What was Candy Crush Saga's first major expansion called?

Candy Crush Saga’s first major expansion was called Dreamworld.

Dreamworld added a separate set of levels alongside the original Candy Crush Saga campaign. Its central character was Odus the Owl, whose balancing mechanic required players to match two randomly selected candy colors without letting one side fall too far out of balance. Failing that challenge could end the level.

Dreamworld also introduced Moon Struck. After players filled the relevant meter, Moon Struck removed candies of the two tracked colors and gave a short period of easier play before the balancing challenge resumed. Dreamworld used a separate life pool, allowing players to switch between it and the main game.

The expansion is often confused with later Candy Crush titles. Soda Saga and Jelly Saga are standalone sequels, not names for the original game’s first expansion. Dreamworld was eventually removed and is no longer accessible, but it remains an important milestone in the series’ early development.
