What villainous organization appears in the original Pokémon games?

Team Rocket is the villainous organization that appears in the original Pokémon games.

In Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, Team Rocket is a criminal group that exploits Pokémon for profit and power. Its leader is Giovanni, who also serves as the Gym Leader of Viridian City. The player repeatedly confronts Team Rocket while traveling through the Kanto region.

Team Rocket’s major schemes include taking over the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town, stealing valuable Pokémon, and occupying the Silph Co. headquarters in Saffron City. The player eventually battles Giovanni at Team Rocket’s hideout and later at the Viridian Gym.

The animated series also features Jessie, James, and Meowth as recurring Team Rocket members. Later generations introduced different organizations, including Team Magma, Team Galactic, and Team Plasma, so those names belong to other Pokémon regions and storylines rather than the original games.
