What vehicle flies Deep Cut near the Spirhalite Islands?

Deep Cut flies near the Spirhalite Islands in a helicopter. The aircraft carries Shiver, Frye, and Big Man from Splatsville, along with the player character, the unnamed Mechanic.

The choice of a helicopter fits the islands' remote setting. Nintendo's developers described the Spirhalite Islands as distant and isolated within the Splatlands, far enough away that reaching them by helicopter made sense for the story. Deep Cut travels there while pursuing treasure that could help address Splatsville's enormous financial problems.

The helicopter is also central to the opening incident. As the crew approaches the islands, they see a mysterious golden glow surrounded by spiraling storm clouds. The phenomenon pulls the helicopter toward the islands and forces the Mechanic to make an emergency landing. The vehicle is therefore more than background transport: it explains why the group becomes stranded and why the adventure begins.
