What type of production is Disney’s Camp Rock 3?

Disney’s Camp Rock 3 is a musical television film.

That classification reflects the film’s format and its central use of original songs, performances, and a music-based competition. The story follows campers competing for the chance to become the opening act for Connect 3.

Camp Rock 3 is not a theatrical feature in the franchise’s usual sense. Like the earlier Camp Rock productions, it was made for television distribution, with Disney Channel serving as its premiere network. It was also released on Disney+ the following day.

The film combines musical storytelling with comedy, teen drama, and a talent competition. Its television-film format also distinguishes it from an animated production or an episodic television series.
