The term for the male celebrant of a quinceañera-style fifteenth birthday is quinceañero.
Quinceañero is the masculine counterpart to quinceañera in Spanish. Both terms derive from quince, meaning 15, and describe a young person associated with a fifteenth-birthday observance. In English, however, quinceañera is much more widely recognized and is sometimes used broadly for the event itself.
Gender conventions are not identical across communities. Some families adapt the celebration for boys, use a different name, or create a shared or nontraditional format. The term quinceañero therefore describes a male celebrant, but it does not prescribe one universal ceremony.
The accent and ñ are part of standard Spanish spelling. In informal English writing, the diacritic is sometimes omitted, but quinceañero remains the conventional Spanish form.
