Telegram accounts operated by programs are called bots. They are automated accounts created through Telegram’s bot platform and can respond to messages, perform tasks, or connect outside services to chats.
Telegram provides a public API that developers use to build bots. A bot can deliver alerts, answer commands, process payments, run games, moderate groups, or function as the interface for a mini app. Unlike ordinary user accounts, bots are controlled by software rather than a person typing every reply.
Bots are not the same as channels, which broadcast posts, or folders, which organize chats. Stories are a publishing feature. Users should also remember that a third-party bot may receive information sent to it; using one is not the same as interacting with Telegram itself.
