The last doll is the symbolic quinceañera tradition in which the celebrant receives a final childhood doll.
The doll represents the end of childhood and is often presented by a parent or another close relative. In some celebrations, the quinceañera later gives the doll to a younger sibling or child, reinforcing the idea of passing childhood along to the next generation.
The ritual is not part of every quinceañera. Families may replace it with another symbolic gift or skip symbolic presentations altogether. It is also distinct from the court’s dances and from religious customs such as a thanksgiving Mass.
