A last doll is a symbolic object often given to a quinceañera as a keepsake of childhood.
The custom represents leaving childhood behind as the celebrant enters a new stage of life. In some ceremonies, the quinceañera receives or passes on a doll, making the object a visible reminder of the transition celebrated by the event.
This ritual is not universal. Families may omit it, reinterpret it, or replace it with another meaningful gift. The doll should also not be confused with the celebrant’s formal dress, tiara, or other accessories, which have separate roles in different versions of the tradition.
