What special edition Corvette was released for the 50th anniversary in 2003?

The story behind the answer

The special edition released for Corvette’s 50th anniversary in 2003 was the 50th Anniversary Edition.

It was offered during the 2003 model year, marking half a century since Corvette production began in 1953. The package, identified by RPO Z25, was available on both coupe and convertible versions of the C5 Corvette. Its most recognizable features included Anniversary Red Metallic paint, a shale two-tone leather interior, special badges, embroidered trim, and Warm Nickel Metallic painted aluminum wheels.

Anniversary Edition convertibles also received a shale-colored soft top. The package included equipment associated with upscale Corvette models, including head-up display, and Magnetic Selective Ride Control was standard on properly equipped Anniversary Edition cars.

The name can cause confusion because Corvette later used other anniversary labels, including a 60th Anniversary Edition for 2013 and a 70th Anniversary Edition for 2023. The 2003 model-year celebration was specifically the 50th Anniversary Edition, not one of those later packages.
