What special ability does the protagonist use to imitate a human in Pokémon Pokopia?

The protagonist uses transformation to imitate a human in Pokémon Pokopia.

The protagonist is Ditto, a Pokémon famous for changing its form. In Pokopia, that ability allows Ditto to assume a humanlike appearance after finding an old Pokédex connected to its past.

The transformation establishes the game’s central perspective. Although the player controls a Pokémon, Ditto can move through the world and carry out activities associated with a human builder, such as gathering materials, arranging structures, and helping restore settlements.

This is distinct from telepathy or illusion. Ditto’s defining power is physical transformation, which is why the character can imitate other forms. The ability also reflects the game’s broader theme: identity and adaptation in a world where the old human society has disappeared.
