The Spanish term for a quinceañera’s female attendants is damas.
Damas form the female side of the traditional court of honor. They may take part in the entrance procession, wear coordinated formal clothing, and perform a choreographed waltz or other dance with the quinceañera and the male attendants.
The corresponding male attendants are commonly called chambelanes or escorts. Terminology can vary by country, family, and Spanish-speaking community, but damas is the standard term used in descriptions of the traditional court.
Not every modern quinceañera has damas. Some celebrations use a smaller court, invite friends of different genders, or replace the formal court with a family-centered presentation. The word describes a ceremonial role, not a mandatory part of the birthday.
