What song serves as House M.D.’s main opening theme?

“Teardrop” by Massive Attack serves as House M.D.’s main opening theme.

The song is recognizable for its delicate vocal line, electronic production, and distinctive harpsichord-like pattern. Its opening sequence accompanies medical imagery and the show’s title credits, helping establish the series’ serious but stylized atmosphere.

The U.S. broadcast version used “Teardrop” for the opening credits, although some international versions and episodes used different music because of licensing arrangements. That variation explains why viewers may remember another song from a particular broadcast. “Teardrop” was released by Massive Attack in 1998, several years before House M.D. premiered.
