Arthur Fils was the 21st seed in the men’s singles final at the 2026 Cincinnati Open.
The 21st-seeded Frenchman defeated 17th-seeded Frances Tiafoe 6–3, 1–6, 6–0. Fils’s run was therefore a title-winning performance by a player seeded outside the top 20, while his opponent was also seeded outside the top 10.
The championship was Fils’s first ATP Masters 1000 title. Before Cincinnati, he had won other professional trophies, including the 2025 Barcelona Open, but had not previously captured a Masters 1000 event.
Seed numbers are assigned before the draw and do not indicate a player’s position in the final. Fils’s 21st seed identifies his tournament seeding, not a ranking obtained after winning the championship.
