What role is Viper listed under in Valorant?
Answer
Controller
Answer
Controller
Viper is listed under the Controller role in VALORANT.
Controllers specialize in shaping the battlefield by blocking sightlines and controlling dangerous areas. Viper fits that role through chemical-themed abilities that create poisonous zones and obscuring screens. Her Toxic Screen can divide a site or long corridor, while Poison Cloud creates a temporary area that damages and weakens enemies who remain inside it.
Her signature resource system also makes her different from many other agents. Viper manages fuel to power certain chemical devices, allowing her to turn coverage on and off during a round rather than simply placing a smoke that follows a fixed duration. Her ultimate, Viper’s Pit, creates a large toxic area that favors close-range control and makes it difficult for enemies to see clearly.
Players sometimes mistake Controller for a purely defensive class. In practice, Controllers support both attack and defense: they can cut off defenders’ sightlines during a site take, delay a push, or help teammates retake a site. Viper is therefore a Controller even though her abilities can also deal damage and apply debuffs.
