What restaurant does Kramer work at in the 'Seinfeld' episode 'The Chicken Roaster'?

The story behind the answer

Kramer works at Kenny Rogers Roasters in the Seinfeld episode "The Chicken Roaster."

The restaurant opens near Kramer's apartment and becomes the source of his insomnia because its large red neon sign shines directly into his window. Kramer responds by hanging a banner that blocks the sign and attempts to drive the restaurant out of business. The glowing sign and roasted-chicken smell become central parts of the episode's comic conflict.

The episode first aired during Seinfeld's eighth season, in 1996. Jerry eventually switches apartments with Kramer, and the restaurant's influence begins to affect Jerry's behavior. Jerry becomes obsessed with the chicken, while Kramer starts acting like Jerry, creating one of the show's most memorable identity swaps.

Kenny Rogers Roasters was a real restaurant chain founded in 1991 by country singer Kenny Rogers and businessman John Y. Brown Jr., a former Kentucky governor and early KFC investor. The chain originally specialized in wood-fired rotisserie chicken. It later disappeared from the United States but continued operating primarily in parts of Asia, making it more than a fictional Seinfeld business.
