What rank means a player failed a Rhythm Heaven stage?

The rank that means a player failed a Rhythm Heaven stage is Try Again. It indicates that the performance was not accurate enough to clear the rhythm game, so the player must repeat it.

Rhythm Heaven evaluates each stage with a small set of clear performance outcomes. Try Again is the failure result, OK is the normal passing result, and Superb is the highest regular rank. The game asks players to follow musical timing, often relying more on sound than on visual prompts, so a stage can be failed even when the on-screen action appears close.

A Try Again result usually sends the player back to the same stage rather than ending the game. In many entries, repeated failures can eventually activate a skip option, allowing progress while acknowledging that a particular rhythm challenge is proving difficult. The exact supporting systems vary between games.

Try Again is easy to confuse with OK because both appear at the end of a stage and both are part of the same grading system. The distinction is important: OK is sufficient to advance, whereas Try Again means the stage was not cleared. Superb is better than OK and awards a medal.
