What production company created The Flintstones?

The Flintstones was created and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, the animation company founded by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The studio developed the series for ABC and premiered it in 1960.

Hanna-Barbera had become known for television animation through programs such as The Huckleberry Hound Show and The Quick Draw McGraw Show. Wanting to reach adults as well as children, Hanna and Barbera developed an animated situation comedy about a modern family—then placed its household routines in a comic Stone Age setting.
