It is different from the weekly UK Singles Chart, where the Sam Fender and Olivia Dean collaboration eventually reached number one. Thus, number 38 describes its annual 2025 position, not its highest weekly peak.
The song was released on 20 June 2025 and initially entered the UK chart at number 86 before climbing sharply. It later became Fender’s first UK number-one single and Dean’s second. Because its biggest chart moment came after a long climb, its weekly peak and year-end ranking are especially easy to confuse.
“Rein Me In” began as a solo track on Fender’s album People Watching. Dean joined the re-recorded version, released as a duet, giving the song a separate collaborative release identity.
