Bulbasaur is the Pokémon in Pokémon GO with a bulb-like plant growing on its back. The bulb is present from birth and is central to the Pokémon’s design, name, biology, and evolution.

Bulbasaur is listed as National Pokédex number 001 and is a dual Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon. Official Pokédex descriptions explain that it carries a seed or bulb on its back, containing nutrients that help sustain it while it grows.
