What platform received the 2024 remake of The Thousand-Year Door?
Answer
Nintendo Switch
Answer
Nintendo Switch
The 2024 remake of The Thousand-Year Door was released for the Nintendo Switch.
The remake revisits the 2004 Nintendo GameCube role-playing game, in which Mario travels to Rogueport, recruits distinctive partners, and searches for the legendary Crystal Stars. Nintendo announced the updated version during a Nintendo Direct on September 14, 2023.
Intelligent Systems returned as the primary developer, with Tose assisting. The Switch edition features redesigned graphics, updated animations, rearranged music, improved fast travel, larger item and coin capacities, and a gallery for viewing artwork and music. Players can also select the original GameCube soundtrack through an in-game badge.
The remake launched worldwide on May 23, 2024. It is distinct from the original GameCube release, so questions mentioning the 2004 version should identify the GameCube, while questions about the 2024 remake point to Nintendo’s hybrid Switch console.
