Paris Saint-Germain had 56% of overall possession in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup.
The possession figure covers the full 90-minute match against Aston Villa. PSG finished with the larger share, while Villa recorded 44%. Paris won the final 2–1 at Red Bull Arena in Salzburg.
The split changed between the two halves. PSG held 60% possession in the first half and 53% in the second half. Aston Villa therefore had 40% before half-time and 47% afterward, showing that the English side became more competitive in possession as the match progressed.
Possession does not directly measure chances or efficiency. Aston Villa recorded 15 total shots compared with PSG’s 11, yet PSG scored twice and claimed the trophy. The match statistics illustrate how control of the ball and the number of attempts can point in different directions.
