A tiara is the object sometimes presented to a quinceañera as a symbolic crown.
The tiara, crown, or similar headpiece marks the celebrant as the central figure of the event. It can represent dignity, maturity, and the importance of the milestone. In some ceremonies, a parent or another honored relative places it on her head during a formal presentation.
The practice is not identical everywhere. Some families use a tiara, while others choose a crown-like comb, flowers, or no special headpiece. Modern celebrations may also reflect personal style, regional fashion, or a theme rather than a fixed ceremonial script.
The tiara is one of several symbolic objects associated with quinceañeras. It should not be confused with the changing of shoes, the presentation of a final doll, or the group of attendants. Each custom has developed separately and may appear in different combinations.
