Ray Allen wore uniform number 34 for the Seattle SuperSonics.
Allen joined Seattle in a 2003 trade from the Milwaukee Bucks and wore No. 34 throughout his SuperSonics career. The shooting guard quickly became the franchise’s leading offensive star, pairing elite three-point shooting with the ability to create his own shot. He made the All-NBA Second Team in 2005 while helping Seattle reach the Western Conference semifinals.
During the 2006–07 season, Allen averaged a career-high 26.4 points per game for the Sonics. He also scored 54 points against the Utah Jazz in January 2007, one of the highest single-game totals in franchise history. Seattle traded him to the Boston Celtics later that year.
Allen’s uniform number changed in Boston because Paul Pierce already wore No. 34, so Allen used No. 20 with the Celtics. He later returned to No. 34 with the Miami Heat. The number is also associated with Allen’s college career at UConn, which retired his jersey in 2019.
