What name does Honda use for the Fit in Europe and Oceania?

The story behind the answer

Honda uses the name Honda Jazz for the Fit in Europe and Oceania.

The Fit is Honda’s global subcompact hatchback, first introduced in Japan in 2001. Honda selected different names for different markets: “Fit” is used in Japan and much of the Americas, while “Jazz” is used in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and several other regions.

The small five-door car became known for making unusually efficient use of its compact footprint. Its flexible rear-seat system, commonly marketed through Honda’s “Magic Seats” concept, allowed the cabin to handle tall or bulky items more easily than many rivals. The model is classified as a supermini in the United Kingdom and a light car in Australia.

The naming can be especially confusing because Honda has used “Jazz” in several regions and generations, while “Fit” remains the familiar name in Japan and North America. The earlier Honda City was also sold as a Jazz in parts of Europe, but that does not change the current answer: the Fit’s regional name is Jazz.
