What motto appears on the reverse design of the 2026 America250 dime?

“Liberty Over Tyranny” appears on the reverse design of the 2026 America250 dime.

The semiquincentennial dime was designed as part of the special 1776–2026 coinage authorized for the nation’s 250th anniversary. Its obverse presents Liberty, while the reverse features an eagle and the anniversary motto “Liberty Over Tyranny.”

The design belongs to the temporary anniversary coin program rather than the regular dime design used in earlier years. America250 coinage uses commemorative imagery and dual dating to connect modern circulation with the founding era.

The phrase can be confused with familiar inscriptions found on other United States coins. “E pluribus unum” appears on many U.S. coins and means “Out of many, one,” while “Liberty Over Tyranny” is specifically associated with the planned 2026 semiquincentennial dime. The dime is one denomination in a wider anniversary redesign program.
