What model year did the seventh-generation Corvette (C7) debut?

The story behind the answer

The seventh-generation Corvette, known as the C7, debuted for the 2014 model year.

Chevrolet revealed the new Corvette on January 13, 2013, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Although the unveiling happened in 2013, the car was sold as a 2014 model, which is why 2014 is the canonical answer to the question.

The C7 revived the Stingray name and introduced a more angular design, a new LT1 6.2-liter V8, direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing, and Active Fuel Management. It also became the first production Corvette offered with a seven-speed manual transmission.

The first customer cars arrived during the third quarter of 2013, creating a possible source of confusion. That early production and delivery date does not change the model-year answer: the generation debuted as the 2014 Corvette. The C7 remained in production through the 2019 model year before the mid-engine C8 arrived.
