What major Grammy award did Taylor Swift’s Folklore win for the album featuring “august”?

Taylor Swift’s Folklore won Album of the Year for the album featuring “august.”

The victory came at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021. Folklore was nominated in several categories and won the ceremony’s top album prize. The award recognized the album as a complete body of work rather than awarding “august” individually.

The win was historically notable because it made Swift the first woman to win Album of the Year three times. Her earlier victories were for Fearless and 1989. She became the fourth artist overall to reach three wins, joining Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon.

A frequent mix-up involves the song-specific categories. “cardigan” received nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while “exile” was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. “august” itself was part of the winning album but did not win Album of the Year as a standalone single.
