What London address is associated with Gregory House’s apartment in House M.D.?

Gregory House’s apartment in House M.D. is associated with the address 221B Baker Street.

The address is a direct reference to Sherlock Holmes, who lives at 221B Baker Street in Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. House is deliberately modeled on Holmes in several ways: both are extraordinary investigators, both notice clues others miss, and both can be contemptuous of ordinary social conventions. House’s friend James Wilson also parallels Dr. Watson.

In the series, House’s apartment is in New Jersey, but the 221B designation makes the literary connection explicit. The address functions as an Easter egg for viewers familiar with the detective stories rather than as a claim that House lives in London.

A frequent error is writing 221A instead of 221B. The fictional Sherlock Holmes address is conventionally 221B Baker Street, and House M.D. uses that same identifying suffix.
